#4 Sew Fine Friday
Sew Over It
On Fridays after the working week ends, I start totto about my sewing projects guilt free, with the increasing number of participants sharing their makes for #MeMadeMay each day I have come across so many sewing patterns to my ever growing wish list. I actually used my own list of ‘Indie pattern companies I like’ to go through and look for the perfect pair of trousers, since the patterns I finally decided on are from Sew Over It, today’s post will feature them.
Free Patterns No, however there are tutorials for scrap busting projects that don’t need a pattern or an external link is shared.
Tutorials: Yes on the the blog there is a tips and tricks section https://sewoverit.co.uk/category/blog/tips-tricks/
Level: Sewing patterns are available from beginners such as the Carrie trousers to advanced such as the Francine jacket which comes in two versions. You can look at the modelled sewn garment photos in the pattern gallery and you can see modelled versions shared by the sewing community in different sizes if you search each SOI pattern on Instagram or Pinterest.
Sew Shayarana likes: I like that the patterns are modelled in different sizes so you can get an idea of how the pattern will look on you. Certain projects have sew alongs on the SOI YouTube channel like the SOI ultimate culottes.
Sew Shayarana wish list: The SOI patterns I already have are the Francine, jacket and the pussybow blouse, my most recent purchase are the Carrie trousers (half elasticated waist with slash pockets) and the SOI ultimate trousers which I found when I was looking for a pattern for trousers with a side zip to use for work wear. I did have to search a bit not many indie patterns are with side zips. I was also looking for a flattering look summer trousers and I liked the cut of the Carrie trousers with tapered legs. Before buying more patterns I want to sew up my SOI pattern stash so for now the the 1940s tea dress is on my wish list.
